This page of the census appears to cover the eastern area of the township near the village of Mecklenburg. The following notes present research possibilities, and, unless otherwise noted, the identity of the individuals has not been proven.

Cornelius HUMPHREY - The will of a Cornelius Humfrey of the town of Hector, N.Y., dated Feb. 20, 1811, was presented for probate April 8, 1812.  Executors were:  Wm. C. Humfrey and Charles Carman.  Children named were: eldest daughter Mary, wife of Charles Carman, received deed for 1000 acres in the “2nd allotment in the Royal Grant”;  eldest son Cornelius received a deed for 103 acre portion of lot 67 (Hector?) lying on the east side of Spruce Creek in the “1st allotment of the Royal Grant” and land on the south and blacksmith tools; grandchildren through deceased daughter Elizabeth;  son Wm. C. received remainder after debts. (Source: Seneca County RootsWeb.) A Cornelius Humphrey, who died March 10, 1812, at age 76, was buried in the Quaker-Carman Cemetery, as was wife Sarah, who died April 25, 1810, at age 70.  (Source: Schuyler Co. Benjamin STATES - A Benjamin States married an Elizabeth Hinckley (daughter of Joshua Hinckley and Hannah Chase) on April 29, 1810;  Elizabeth was born Aug. 11, 1790, in Harwich, Barnstable, Mass., and died May 8, 1861. (Source:  RootsWeb World Connect)

David LARRISON - A David Larrison was on the June 11, 1806, 1807, and June 25,1808, jury lists for Hector, Seneca Co. (Source: Seneca Co. RootsWeb.)

Andrew STEVENSON, Jun. - Identity proven.  Andrew Stevenson Jr., born May 28, 1779, in Charlotte/Washington Co., N.Y., was the son of Andrew Stevenson Sr. and possibly either Susannah Gordon or Margaret Gilmore.  His father, Andrew Sr. is listed on page 2 of this census.  Andrew Jr. married Tabitha Dolph on Sept. 4, 1800, in Fort Ann/Westfield, Washington Co., and per this record his middle initial was “E.”   Tabitha, born Dec. 15, 1777, in Spencertown, N.Y., was the daughter of Abda Dolph and Mary Coleman.  Per a land deed, around 1804 Andrew Jr. and/or his father moved to Hector south of Mecklenburg.  (An Andrus Stevenson is listed on an 1804 jury list for Ulysses, Seneca Co. and in 1805 as Andrew.  This could be Andrew Sr. or Jr.) His brothers Gilbert, Alexander, and James also moved to the Hector-Enfield area;  his sister Elizabeth married William Austin and remained in northern N.Y./Canada;  he reportedly had two other sisters, Margaret and Susannah, whose whereabouts are unknown but one reportedly married a Toser and the other a Pitcher and a King.  Their father Andrew died in Hector in 1816;  his wife Susannah was alive in Jan. 1816 at the time of his will.  Between 1818 and 1820, Andrew Jr. moved to Dearborn Co., Ind.  Tabitha apparently died between 1815 and 1826, for he married Rachel Early in 1826 in Dearborn Co. He had a number of children with both, including reportedly: 1) Armour, born Dec. 16, 1802, in N.Y.; 2) Susan Susannah, born abt. 1803 in N.Y.;  3) Sylvanus, born abt. 1809 in N.Y.; 4) & 5) James and Thomas Horace, born March 27, 1815, in Cayuga (?) Co., N.Y.;  6) Cyrone/Cyrane Columbus;  7) Lydia; 8) Columbus S., born abt. 1817 in N.Y.; 9) Eliza, born abt. 1826 in Ind.;  10) Emily, born July 11, 1828, in Ind.; 11) Albert, born Feb. 11, 1830, in Ind.;  12) Almira, born March 23, 1833 in Ind.  Around 1851 Andrew moved to Wapello co., Iowa, where he died  March 31, 1867, at 87 years.  (Source:  various land deeds and Stevenson family research.)

Samuel HARVEY - A Samuel Harvey died May  22, 1842, at age 82, and was buried in Harvey-Buck Hill Cemetery south of Mecklenburg. Also buried there was wife Lydia Wooley, who died Dec. 7, 1857, at age 93. (Source: Schuyler Co. Zimri MCINTYRE - A Zimri McIntyre was on the 1807 Hector and 1808 Ulysses jury lists for Seneca Co., N.Y.  (Source: Seneca Co. RootsWeb.)

Anthony HULSE - An Anthony Hulse was on an 1808 Ulysses, Seneca Co., jury list.   (Source: Seneca Co. RootsWeb.)

Isaac AVERY -  An Isaac Avery was on an 1810 jury list for Ulysses twp., Seneca Co., N.Y. (There was some confusion between Ulysses and Hector at this time, so this may be the Isaac Avery in this census in Hector.) (Source: Seneca Co. RootsWeb)  An Isaac Avery was an executor, along with son Gilbert Stevenson, in the Jan. 12, 1816, will of Andrew Stevenson Sr. The will was proved Sept. 13, 1816, with Isaac, Gilbert, and witness William McIntyre appearing before the Seneca Co. Surrogate’s office.  (Source: Andrew Stevenson will.)   An Isaac Avery, March 30, 1772 - Feb. 1, 1858, was the son of Daniel Avery and Deborah of Groton, New London, Conn.  Isaac married Sarah Brooks, born May 4, 1775.  Their children were:  1) Frances, born July 26, 1795, in Aurora, Onondaga, N.Y., and died in 1863 in St. Paul, Ind.;  2) Herman, born Oct. 15, 1797, in Aurora, and died in 1852 in St. Paul;  3) Guy Carleton, born July 7, 1798, in Aurora, and lived in Northbend, Ohio, and Shelby, Ind.;  4) Dudley, born June 28, 1800, in Aurora, and lived in Northbend and Shelby;  5) Charlotte Ann, born July 21, 1803, in Aurora, and died in 1861 in Exeter, Ill.;  6)  William Pitt, born April 5, 1805, in Aurora, and died 1832 in Shelby;  7) Isaac, born July 5, 1807, in Aurora, and died in 1874 in Shelby;  8)  Sally Marie;  9)  Daniel, born March 19, 1811, in Ulysses, Cayuga/Seneca Co., N.Y., and died in 1866 in Winchester, Ill.;  10) Helen, born Nov. 11, 1812, in Ulysses, married in Shelby and then in Exeter, and died in 1881 in New Iberia, Louisiana. (Source:  RootsWeb World Connect.)  An Isaac Avery was an early settler near Shelbyville, Ind.  Isaac Sr. and Sarah are listed in the 1833-34 land deed book for Shelby Co.  The estate papers of Isaac were settled in 1859, with Isaac Jr. as executor in Shelby Co.  (Source:  Shelby Co., Ind., RootsWeb.)  (Note: Longstreet Harvey made the move from N.Y. to Ohio to Indiana about the same time as Isaac.)

Longstreet HARVEY - A Longstreet Harvey, son of Stephen Harvey Sr. and Lydia Longstreet, was born Dec. 10, 1778, in N.J., died Aug. 30, 1858,  and was buried in Shepherd's Hill Cemetery, Shelby Co., Ind.  On Aug. 20, 1801, in Cranberry, Middlesex, N.J., Longstreet married Charity Bennett, born May 1, 1781, in N.J., died March  27, 1869, and buried in Shepherd’s Hill Cemetery.  They moved from N.J. to Seneca Co., N.Y.;  then to Sharonville, Ohio, (building and floating a raft down the Ohio River from Fort Pitt, Penn., to Cincinnati, Ohio) where they stayed three years; then in 1817 to Mt. Auburn, Jackson Twp., Shelby Co., Ind., where they remained.  Their children were:  1) Elsey, born Aug. 21, 1806, in Seneca Co.;  2) Caroline, born in 1808;  3) Rachel;  4) Mary;  5) Louisa, born ~1814-1817 in Sharonville;  6) Lysander;  7) Gilbert; 8) Cornelius;  9) Stephen.  (According to 1810 Hector census, three daughters were born by 1810 and their sons were born after that.)  (Source:  RootsWeb World Connect)

Silivan HUBBEL - Page two of this census lists a Sulivan D. Hubble.  The two may be related, but it does not appear that they were father and son.

Henry MCLALEN - A Henry McLallen, born Jan. 29, 1775, in Berkshire Co., Mass., was the brother of a John McLallen, born Dec. 25, 1773, in West Stockbridge, Mass.  Their parents were James McLallen and Margaret Lamberton.  James was a Revolutionary War soldier in Massachusetts. Henry was a hotel owner in Trumansburg, N.Y. and married Amelia/Milly/Pamelia Updike. Their children included:  1) John; 2) Maria (Levan); 3) Lucinda; 4) Isaiah, born March 29, 1805; 5) Eliza (Lovel), born Oct. 10, 1811.  Amelia died in 1825, and Henry died Sept. 22, 1851. Amelia was the daughter of Burgoon Updike and Mary.  Burgoon moved to Ulysses in 1801, and the Old Log Meeting House was built on his farm. Joshua GEE -  A Joshua Gee, son of William Gee and Martha Turner, was born in 1768 in Dutchess, N.Y.  He married a Jane, born April 26, 1775, and died May 7, 1842, in Ithaca, Tompkins Co., N.Y.  Joshua died after 1838 in Ulysses Twp., Tompkins Co.    (Source: RootsWeb World Connect.)

Jifse [Jesse] OWEN - An Elizabeth Case, wife of a Jesse Owen, was buried in Mecklenburg Cemetery with the dates 3/8/1781 - 4/15/1839.

Moses LOVELL -  A Moses Lovell, born June 30, 1787, in Byram, Sussex, N.J., was the son of Asahel Lovell and Hannah Byram.  He married Susanna Baker and Mercy Covert Swick. Moses died June 23, 1877, in Newfane, Niagara, N.Y.  Children of Moses and Susanna were:  1) Lucinda, born July 23, 1809, in Enfield, N.Y.;  2) Eber, born Jan. 30, 1811, in Enfield;  3) Amy, born Nov. 6, 1813, in Enfield;  4) Ezra C., born 1816; 5) Phoebe, born 1818; 6) Emily, born 1820;  7) Milo H., born 1822; 8) Susanna, born 1824.  Children of Moses and Mercy were:  1) Abraham , born March 18, 1827;  2) Japhet Byram, born Oct. 26, 1828;  3) Margart M., born Dec. 22, 1830;  4) Joseph Harvey, born March 2, 1834;  5) William Dean, born July 5, 1836; 6)  Hannah Good (May), born April 13, 1840;  7) Seth M., born March 17, 1843.  (Note:  Enfield Twp. had not formed until the 1820s, so Enfield probably means Hector or Ulysses.)  Susanna Baker was the daughter of Judah C. Baker and Lydia Chase, who came to Enfield area in 1804 from Coxsackie, Greene, N.Y.
